Information: Designed to greet visitors to Glasgow's 1938 Empire Exhibition, it has been described as the city's first sky scraper and the Art Deco curved towers of the façade typify the design found in many of Glasgow's cinemas of the 1930's. The building has also served as an office block and as student halls for Strathclyde University until it was eventually converted into apartments. Guided tours to 1st floor at regular intervals at least every 30 minutes (on the hour and half hour). No booking required.
