Information: Ray McKenzie, author of the hugely informative and important reference book, Public Sculpture of Glasgow, presents a talk on the city's monuments and architectural sculpture. He will review prominent examples of historic work as well as considering some more contemporary artwork. In particular, Ray will look at the sculptural treatment of doorways in Glasgow. The talk will examine the question of whether the historic tradition of monument making is still alive in Glasgow in the 21st century.
