Information: In the very heart of Glasgow stands one of the city’s most important and prestigious buildings – the City Chambers. Completed in 1888, it has, for over 100 years been the headquarters of successive councils serving the City of Glasgow. The interior of the west building testifies to the quality of workmanship of the High Victorian era with mosaic, marble, carved woodwork, mural painting, embossed wallpapers, gilding and stained glass coming together to create a truly wonderful civic palace.
