Information: This inspirational, historic and thriving community facility was gifted to the people of Govan by the widow of William Pearce, the Fairfield Shipyard owner. Serving the needs of the local community for over a century, this ‘A’ listed landmark building continues to be well used and much loved. An afternoon of talks on Govan will take place at the PI on Tuesday 13 September. The Pearce Institute offers a unique selection of characterful, well equipped rooms and facilities in an historic building which can be used for a wide variety of purposes including: - Conferences AGMs Training courses Clubs Musical performances Parties A recent major £2m project has secured the PI’s long-term future by extensive repairs to the building’s roof and repair and upgrading to the Macleod Hall, former Billiard Room and Lithgow room to provide flexible, multi-use space for community hire.
