Information: Secondary school pupils will hone their storytelling skills, research some stories and learn about archiving from principal librarians in the local history department of the Mitchell library. They will put these new skills to use on Doors Open Day by telling a story to visitors. Knowing or hearing a story told about the building makes it come alive. Community initiatives have preserved many historic sites in the city and now the young people of Glasgow are getting involved to help keep the city’s old stories and myths alive by telling them to visitors coming for tours on Doors Open Day. Glasgow Building Preservation Trust and the Scottish Storytelling Forum thank St Margaret Mary's Secondary School, Castlemilk High School and Hyndland Secondary School for their enthusiasm and cooperation. The buildings which the storytellers will be in are Castlemilk Stables, 59 Machrie Drive Castlemilk and Partick Curling Club, 45 Balshagray Avenue, Victoria Park. See the individual entries for location information.
