Glasgow Building Heritage
Doors Open Days - Glasgow's Built Heritage Festival, showcases every part of the city reflecting Glaswegian pride in our unique built environment.
This is our 19th year and the event is even bigger and better with more than 135 buildings old and new open free to the public over the weekend of Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September 2008.
In this section you can browse all the buildings which are open this year as well as view their locations on a map.
We've split the list of buildings into five key areas of the city.
Central Glasgow
The core of the city incorporating the Merchant City - one of the best shopping centres in the UK.
Glasgow West
With a predominantly bohemian feel to it, a compact area with a rich collection of buildings, churches, museums.
Glasgow East
Formerly the hub of heavy industries in Glasgow, with pockets of architectural interest and very warm people is definitely a place to visit..
Glasgow South
Covering a large area south of the River Clyde there are many interesting and unusual places to explore, such as Castlemilk.
Greater Easterhouse
This neighbourhood was built mainly in the 1970's on an area of huge historical significance extending back to medieval times
