Information: Explore the building where some of the most famous Clydeside ships were designed and launched. Described as the finest shipbuilding office in Britain, this Category A listed building will soon provide 18,000 sq ft of magnificent commercial space/community heritage centre. Renowned architectural features of the offices include stained glass windows, statuary, a grand staircase, ornate ceilings and the historic boardroom with ship’s carpentry and panelling. Access to some areas of the building may be limited due to ongoing restoration work. Short films featuring Glasgow and Govan’s shipbuilding heritage will be screened throughout each day. Displays of the most recent volunteer-led research about the workers, their jobs and the working conditions they faced in the shipyard will be available to see. Children and young people will be able to do our quiz trail as they explore the building. See 'Heritage Events' for Sat morning lecture by Prof. John Hume.

Comments: Due to ongoing restoration work, limited access to some areas. Steward on duty.
