Information: St George's Church was built in 1808 by the architect William Stark (1770- 1813). Stark is now widely regarded as Scotland's first architect of 'modern society' - William Henry Playfair (National Gallery of Scotland, Royal Scottish Academy) was one of his pupils. The interior was completely renovated in 2008/2009 at a cost of £3.1m and it is now a bright, comfortable and spacious place of worship which is open every day of the week. For the Doors Open Day program there will be Children's Activities, an International Students meeting point, video presentations, live music and a photography exhibition. Tea & coffee served.
