Information: Built in 1894 for Caledonian Railway, this B-listed station is located on the northern extension of the Cathcart Circle. A good example of a late Victorian suburban railway station, only a few of which survive in Glasgow, the charming station building sits within a tree lined cutting and is overlooked by handsome Edwardian tenements. Pollokshields Heritage adopted the station in late 2008. The remaining lower floor has now been leased to the Glasgow South Model Rail and Tram Group. Pollokshields' 160th Anniversary Exhibition ‘Pollokshields Past and Present’ explaining heritage of the garden suburb in ticket office. Includes historic and present day images of the same locations & sketches of the best buildings and maps illustrating the development of the suburb. Bus tour will highlight the best buildings.
