Terms & Conditions
- The competition is promoted by Glasgow Building Preservation Trust ("the Promoter") in conjunction with the website www.glasgowdoorsopenday.com operated by Glasgow City Marketing Bureau Limited ("GCMB"). Full company details and addresses for the Promoter and GCMB are set out at the end of these terms and conditions.
- The competition is open to all UK and Republic of Ireland residents of 12 years old and over, except employees of the Promoter, GCMB and Borders Inc. ("Borders"), their families, agents or any person connected with the competition.
- By entering the competition, entrants will be deemed to have read and understood these terms and conditions and be bound by them.
- Entrants can enter the competition by sending an email to point96she@photos.flickr.com containing their name and contact details together with a digital image of a door in Glasgow that inspires them. Only one entry may be made per person.
- The closing date for entries is midnight on 30 August 2008. Entries submitted after this time will not be counted. Entries will be judged by a panel of judges made up of a representative from each of the following: the Promoter, Borders and a photographer. The panel will review all valid entries and will select between ten and twenty digital images as the finalists by 8 September 2008.
- All finalists will be notified by email. The finalist's name and town will be posted on the website www.glasgowdoorsopenday.com and by entering the competition all finalists will be deemed to consent to this use of their information.
- The finalist's digital images will then be exhibited at the Doors Open Day exhibition during the weekend of 20 and 21 September 2008 at a location to be announced. Three winners, winning first, second and third prizes will be selected from the finalists by the panel at the end of the Doors Open Day week (i.e. after 21 September 2008).
- The prizes will be provided by Borders as follows:
- 1st Prize: £50 Border's voucher with a book
- 2nd Prize: £30 Border's voucher with a book
- 3rd Prize: £20 Border's voucher with a book
- The entrant warrants that all intellectual property rights in and to the entries including the copyright in the digital images submitted by the entrant is the property of the entrant. The entrant hereby grants a non-exclusive licence to the Promoter and to GCMB to use the entries and digital images for the purpose of running the competition which includes exhibiting the entries and digital images at the Doors Open Day exhibition during the weekend of 20 and 21 September 2008 at a location to be announced and for any other promotional activity performed by the Promoter.
- There is no cash or other alternative. Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable.
- The panel's decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into. No responsibility will be accepted for entries illegible, misdirected, lost, delayed or not received including as a result of any failures in the Internet. Entries that are incomplete, defaced, obscene, damaged or defamatory will be deemed invalid.
- The Promoter reserves the absolute right to disqualify any entrant to the competition which it considers has used improper technical means to enter.
- The winners will be notified by email. The winner's name and town will be posted on www.glasgowdoorsopenday.com and by entering the competition all winners will be deemed to consent to this use of their information.
- If a winner of the prize can not be traced after reasonable efforts having been made by the Promoter, then the Promoter may dispose of the prize as it thinks fit without any liability to the winner for having done so.
- The winners when contacted will be required to comply with these competition terms and conditions, accept the prize and provide their name, telephone number and address details in order that the prize can be delivered to them.
- Where the prizes are provided by a third party, neither the Promoter or GCMB will have any responsibility for the acts or defaults of any other person including without limitation such third party.
- The winners may be required to participate in publicity arising from this competition.
