Scotland's Organic Food Festival

Doors Open Day and Glasgow's Built Heritage Festival offers the most extensive and concentrated programme of tours and other events of any of Glasgow's cultural festivals. One of the key themes we are highlighting as part of the heritage festival is traditional building skills and materials.

What is Glasgow's Doors Open Days?

This fantastic event is Glasgow's way of celebrating  its buildings, its streets, its parks and its people - in short itself!

After 19 years, due to popular demand, Glasgow Doors Open Days has become a festival - so for the first time we have a whole week of interesting things to do, see and hear.

From Monday, September 15th to Friday 19th we have walks, talks, seminars, and exhibitions. Then, on the weekend from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon more than 135 extraordinary buildings to visit for free!

Throughout this site you'll find complete listings of all the buildings, events and walks that are part of the festival this year and you view can maps showing where everything is located. Remember, many of the walks and events are in great demand, so book early to avoid disappointment.

The Role of Glasgow Building Preservation Trust

Glasgow Building Preservation Trust was established in 1982 to rescue, repair, restore and rehabilitate historic buildings of architectural merit which through neglect or abuse may otherwise be lost in Glasgow and the surrounding area.

The Trust makes a major contribution to Glasgow's regeneration through the preservation of its built heritage and organises the annual Doors Open Day event in Glasgow.
